A letter has arrived for you

Dear you,

Welcome to the first edition of The Art Letter, arriving with the darkness of the new moon.

The new moon represents a quiet threshold: the space before something takes form. It invites us to turn inward, plant new intentions and listen for what may be emerging beneath the surface.

This feels like the right moment to begin our monthly ritual together.

Encoded in the Dark

Before I placed my pencil on the paper, I set an intention for this drawing to be created specifically for the collective receiving this letter.

I asked that it carry information, symbols, shapes or feelings that someone within this growing circle might recognise. Not necessarily through the conscious mind, but through instinct, memory or something deeper that cannot always be explained.

I did not plan the image or attempt to control what appeared. I allowed the drawing to form intuitively, following each line into the next. The shapes began folding into one another—at times organic and delicate, at others guarded, sharp and unfamiliar.

For me, the drawing feels like something being revealed from within the darkness: a message that has not yet translated itself fully into words.

You may see something entirely different.

As you spend time with the artwork, I invite you to notice which part attracts your attention first. What shapes do you recognise? What emotions, memories or sensations surface? There is no correct interpretation. Perhaps the meaning of the drawing belongs partly to each person who receives it.

Attached is a high-quality digital edition for you to keep, print, display or gift to someone you feel may connect with it.

Each Art Letter will arrive around a significant point in the lunar cycle—sometimes with the new moon, sometimes with the full moon—depending on the energy surrounding the artwork and the moment in which it asks to be shared.
